When controls match in Pega Robot Studio, some matches use only the web-based match rules. IE Mode is a feature in Microsoft Edge that allows access to legacy sites that only support Internet Explorer 11. If Pega Robot Studio cannot match the control based solely on the web-based match rules, it uses the standard default match rules.

LCD provides better picture quality and support for large resolutions. When matching controls that you interrogate in IE mode, Robot Studio uses a different set of match rules than the standard match rules it uses for Google Chrome and Edge Chromium. Abbreviated LCD, liquid crystal display is a flat, thin display device that has replaced the older CRT display. Edge with IE Mode on does not solve or work for the older compatibility view issues. In Windows 11, Edge with Internet Explorer Mode does not have that ability. Robotic Process Automation Design Patterns Edge with Internet Explorer Mode works great in Windows 10 because it inherited the IE internet settings including the Compatibility View settings.
